Our expanded metal sheet is manufactured by slitting and stretching a whole metal plate into diamond mesh structure, without any welding points. It can be produced from carbon steel, galvanized steel or stainless steel to fit different corrosion resistance requirements. This stretched metal panel owns stable structural strength and good load-bearing capacity, commonly applied for anti-slip walkways, equipment safety guards, boundary fences, window grilles, platform grating and architectural decorative projects. We support custom sizes and surface treatments according to customer drawings.
The mechanical performance of expanded metal follows test standards from ASTM F1267/F1267M for metal bar grating and expanded metal products. Compared with welded wire mesh, the integrated stretched structure will not fall apart at joints under impact or heavy load. We have a complete specification library for expanded metal sheet. Available sheet thickness includes 0.3mm, 0.4mm, 0.5mm, 0.6mm, 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm and 8mm. Strand width options cover 0.6mm, 0.8mm, 1mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm and 8mm. Standard diamond openings are 2.5×4.5mm, 5×10mm, 8×15mm, 10×20mm, 12×25mm, 15×30mm, 20×40mm, 25×50mm, 30×60mm, 40×80mm and 100×200mm. Regular sheet dimensions are 1m×2m and 1.22m×2.44m. Carbon steel expanded metal is low-cost for indoor dry environment use. Galvanized expanded sheet adds zinc coating to resist rust for outdoor open-air installation. Stainless steel expanded metal provides superior corrosion resistance for coastal, chemical and humid working conditions. Raw material quality is controlled referencing ISO 1461 for hot-dip galvanizing and stainless steel material norms. Fine small mesh is suitable for filter cover and protection grille, while large diamond mesh is ideal for heavy-duty walkway and platform grating. Anti-slip surface can be produced upon request for foot traffic areas.
Our quality inspection covers thickness, strand width, opening size and flatness, to keep consistency for bulk orders. Surface options include plain mill finish, hot dipped galvanized, electro galvanized and paint coating. A contractor client from Singapore purchased 1.22×2.44m galvanized expanded metal sheets with 20×40mm opening for factory platform grating. The panels are lightweight but strong enough for regular staff walking, saving installation time compared with solid steel plate. The client reordered repeatedly for new workshop expansion.
